V-day

Although Russia was the first country to begin distributing a vaccine against COVID-19, we really only took  notice when one of the countries in the Western club began the distribution of a vaccine that we in Australia have signed up for.  That country was Britain and so the launch of the vaccine was given lots of publicity and the day was called V-day. This resonates with VE day at the end of  WWII so it has both gravitas and excitement.  It seemed probable that we would have a succession of V-days, and indeed the rollout of the vaccine in America was the occasion for a second V-Day.  Australia is keeping its V-day on ice until early next year.
