This is the process of recording your speech so that it can be recreated by AI to speak whatever you require it to say.  This is of benefit to people who know that they are going to lose their voice as, for example, a result of a tracheotomy. Message banking — the recording of specific phrases and messages — is also available but voice banking is more flexible.

Now, with the rise of chatbots, voice banking can give people the opportunity to train a chatbot to use their voice.  If you voice bank sufficient material, the chatbot can learn from it and reproduce your voice.  It broadens the use of voice banking considerably.
