fever clinic
The official name for this is respiratory clinic, sometimes pop-up respiratory clinic because of their pop-up nature. But the media and the general public have all gone for fever clinic. Much more exciting. The fever clinic is meant to draw people away from the emergency wards of hospitals where increasing numbers of agitated potential patients are presenting in the belief that they have the coronavirus. So the fever clinic can test them, reassure them if they are well and pack them off to a suitable hospital ward or to quarantine or self-isolation if they do show signs of having the virus. The official name for such a clinic in Singapore is Public Health Preparedness Clinic which has immediately been given the acronym PHPC. Very Singaporean. It is early days in America but I have seen screening clinic.
