stay safe!

I am interested in how quickly we have all gravitated to this expression for saying ‘goodbye’.  This particular formula is not new but it has had low frequency. Perhaps it seemed to exhibit over-anxiety and was rejected by people who preferred more positive expressions such as ‘have a good day’ and ‘all the best’ and the like. But in the current situation it is not possible to say ‘see you soon!’ or even ‘see you later!’, and ‘stay safe!’ suddenly has a resonance with what is happening around us.
