We enter the world of paranormal romance and dig down from there into dragon shapeshifter romance.  The dragon shapeshifter can appear to be a normal human being but can then shapeshift as required into its dragon form.  The human retains the characteristics of the dragon — dominant, ambitious and inclined to be a hoarder of treasures, and incredibly good-looking.  Dragon smut is another subgenre — dragon shapeshifter romance in which there are sex scenes, sometimes coy, sometimes explicit.  The dragon romances are very popular.
