ghost gun

A ghost gun is a homemade gun which is therefore without a serial number and cannot be traced.  Homemade guns have in the past been put together from raw materials or assorted components or from kits, but now there is a new option — the gun from the 3D printer. The New York gunman, Luigi Mangione, used a 3D-printed gun and silencer.

There has been a marked increase in Australia of such homemade guns. Just as we thought we had the firearms situation more or less under control, the technology has emerged to make all such efforts irrelevant.
