broscience

My spellchecker objected to broscience (keeps insisting on bioscience) and it would not be alone in doing this.  Broscience is a mildly derogatory word for the advice that men in the bodybuilding world hand out to each other, based on their own experience.  To be fair, in many instances medical science would have no advice to offer.  There is nothing in the scientific journals about taking massive doses of testosterone (who would do it?) nor does it have any wisdom to offer on the injection of coconut oil into muscles to get better definition.  In the absence of medical advice, the bros help each other.  Many of them are pretty obsessed so they document their intake of steroids, for example,  and the effect that it has in great detail, producing a case study that might actually have some scientific interest. But on the whole the negatives of broscience outweigh the benefits.
