This is slightly misleading as a name because it gives the impression that the flu virus is somehow targeting young children which it isn’t.  But more young children are getting the flu because the vaccination rate is so low this year.  This could be an instance of vaccine fatigue in the parents, but the end result is that kindergartens are the prime source of infection for the flu this season. We all know how quickly viruses spread in that environment and how the children very kindly bring the infection home and give it to other members of the family, some of whom may be in a vulnerable state.
