unalive

Sometimes in the online world there are sites which will ban any texts that use the words kill or suicide.  If you want to discuss topics that relate to killing or suicide you need to avoid the actual words and substitute a euphemism.  Unalive has come to fill this role.  It can be used as an adjective as in an unalive attempt, or as a verb as in to unalive the bad guys.  In the way in which kill can be used jokingly, unalive can be a humorous usage. My mother will kill me if I am home late.  My mother will unalive me if I am home late.

Euphemisms can be liberating.  People know exactly what you mean. The topic is not trivialised, but somehow the discussion is made easier.  It also connects you to the group of people who use unalive in this way when the rest of the world doesn’t.
