Vaxzevria

Just as we had finally got comfortable with saying the name AstraXeneca, we are confronted by a name change.  As if the whole vaccine thing wasn’t confusing enough already.  Apparently in Europe and Canada the vaccine has gone by the name of Vaxzevria and there is concern that, if we do get to the stage of vaccine certificates or passports, the name AstraZeneca will not be recognised overseas and there will be difficulties in getting through immigration at airports.  This name change has been approved here, and while there may be a couple of months in which both names are used, eventually we will make the shift.
