exposure site
This was initially referred to as a public exposure site, but was rapidly shortened to exposure site as we all became familiar with the routines of contact tracing and the lists of sites where people may have been at risk of contracting COVID-19 from an infectious person.
It also became a way of observing how others lived. Wow – this person went to three gyms in two days. What a health fanatic! Or it may have been three restaurants and a pub in two days. What a food binge! Scanning the exposure site lists was akin to looking up a lottery ticket. Were you there? Do you now have to self-isolate? There were refinements. Sites were classified into tiers according to the level of risk. The lists grew and receded as the virus escaped and was contained.
