This is a rather bleakly humorous response from the younger generations to the fact that COVID-19 is apparently hitting the older generation hard and that in the main it is the people over 70 who die from the virus.  It is one of those jokes that takes off on the internet.  Some boomers find it a little confronting and are not inclined to see the humour in it. Some see it as another indicator of the cultural divide between Gen X and the baby boomers, and point to OK boomer! as a precursor.  This expression, accompanied by an eye roll or two, is meant to indicate that a baby boomer is completely out of touch with the modern world, particularly when it comes to new technology.
