pattern grazing
This is the habit, newly acquired for some as a result of the coronavirus lockdown, of snacking at fairly regular intervals during the day, possibly to relieve stress or boredom. There have been a number of jokes about how we don’t want to flatten the curve but at the same time fatten the curve (of our bellies). The solution to pattern grazing is meal hygiene where we work out the sequence of meals and snacks that amounts to a reasonable intake for the day and stick to that regime rather than sliding into a grazing pattern. There are to be no snacks in between, and of course portion control is exercised.
