fair-dinkum power
Nothing like a good tug-of-war about what a term is going to mean to get us all interested. The term is fair-dinkum power. On one side is Scott Morrison who wants it to mean base-load power and therefore coal. He wants to attach connotations of solid reliability, permanence and possibly a dash of tradition. On the other side is Mike Cannon-Brookes of Atlassian fame, who wants it to mean green power, that is, sun, wind and hydro, with connotations of the way of the future, the way out of climate change, flexibility and speed in delivery. He has instantly whipped up a logo that everyone can use, a hashtag, a domain name that anyone can have, to speed this concept on its way.
